Timers, Drying Cabinets,Tongs Or Spatula, Enlargers, Focusing Aids,Safe lights
2.) List the chemicals we might be using to make a print and where one would buy those chemicals:
developer, stop bath, fixer found at the Kodak website
3.) Summarize in one or two paragraphs the process from start to finish:

Define the following words (make sure its from the photographic perspective):
1. emulsion-a light-sensitive coating on paper or film; consists of fine grains of silver bromide suspended in a gelatin.
2. aperture-is referred to the lens diaphragm opening inside a photographic lens.
3. masking easel-a frame, often with adjustable masks, used to hold photographic paper flat and control borders when printing enlargements.
4. exposure-is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic medium.
5. safe light-A filtered light thats used in a darkroom to allow you to see while handling light sensitive material.
6. dodging-decreases the exposure for areas of the print that the photographer wishes to be lighter
7. burning-increases the exposure to areas of the print that should be darker.

Drug Cartels in Mexico
The drug cartels have murdered over 2,000 people and everyday more people are killed. After two years of arrested many key figures there is still not much change. People don't go out out night on then streets because"The cartels, own the night."The cops in Juarez were masks to keep their identities unknown and protect the safety of their families."Only in Juarez do the good guys wear masks." Being a journalists is very dangerous job because 65 journalists have been murdered since 2000. The people of Juarez live in a non-stop killing zone. Its a very sad and scary place to be and live in because of the drug cartels.
The photo that is my favorite is a car with blood splattered on the window inside and it is cracked and the back door is open. Simplifying and rule of thirds are the technical aspects the photographer used to make the picture interesting I like this photo because the blood and window cracked show the realism of the drug cartels. It leaves you wondering how the blood got there and why the window is cracked.

Post Shoot Reflection
1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get close, capture real moments, and capture action or emotion? Explain how you dealt with these challenges. I had a hard time getting the people in the frame. I tried not to cut any one off.
2. What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly. Focus. I made sure the person was not blurry and I could see the clearly.
3. Explain how you attempted to use at least one of the advanced composition techniques you learned in class while shooting. I tried to use leading lines by using objects to lead the eyes through the photo.
4. What would you do differently the next time you shoot to improve your photographs?
I would try to get the light meter in the middle, i was hard because sometimes it wouldn't move no matter what I did

List the materials (equipment) necessary to process black and white film: A metal or plastic film tank,Three dark plastic containers to hold chemistry,Graduates (used to measure chemicals),Stirring Rods,Scissors, thermometer, Film Squeegees,Timers,A darkroom timer,Running water,A can opener,A room that is totally light proof,Developer ,Glacial Acetic Acid (optional, for Stop Bath),Fixer, and developer.
2.) List the chemicals we might be using in the darkroom and where one would buy those chemicals:Stop Bath, Fixer, Developer, from Kodak web site.
3.) Summarize in one or two paragraphs the process from start to finish:
Take the film out in a darkroom with a can opener then load the film into a plastic film reel. next put it into the film tank..Then set up the chemicals in the tanks. Have the film go though the Developer(Measure the temp of the developer with a thermometer) then the fixer and last the stop bath.Make sure the temperature of the chemicals is 65-75 degrees. Time in each step will every from the type of Developer, fixer, and stop bath you use.
4.) Post a photo of the equipment necessary to process film:
5.) Post a photo of the chemicals necessary to process film:
1. Contact sheet-is a photo print of your film negatives.
2. Agitation-helps speed up and even the development and prevents spotting or staining.
3. Enlarger-is a projector that project a negative onto photographic paper in an enlarged form.
4. Developer-A solution for developing a film or photographic paper
5. Stop Bath-A diffusion of acetic acid used between the developer and the fixer to arrest development and extend the life of the fixer.
6.Fixer-A chemical solution that makes a photographic image sensitive to light.

The Story
The students are focused on the conductor and the conductor is telling the class what note to play. I think the story is that the class has a show coming up and they have to practice. The conductor is going over the music for the show so they can show how good they are.
Action and Emotion
The older kid is picking up the little kid to tell her something. You can tell by his face he really cares about helping that kid out. There is so much emotion in this photo, it is very powerful.
Filling the frame
The kids are looking down and it makes the photo very interesting. The bridge, kids, and the white helmets fill the in the photo. I makes me what to know what they are looking down at.
Show and Tell
The baby floating on the water really interested me in this photo. The parent right next to the baby just in case the baby goes under the water is a relief. This photo is really shocking because i have never seen a baby float on the water like this.

I found this video very interesting because people are covered in mud and playing in it. The acl concerts are a major thing for people and they spend alot of money to be there but they have to put up with all the mud.

The framing of the girl's face is very powerful. The content is a girl's face and a violin covering half of the girl's face. The lighting is dark on the outside and it gets brighter towards the center. The composition of this photo is line because the violin leads your eyes to the subject. The exposure of this photo has low-intensity light.

Great Black and White Photographers part 3
1) What first caught my eye while looking at my photographers photos was the reflection of the peoples faces in the windows.
2) I see reflections of peoples faces in the glass windows. People are looking at the window from outside and people are in the building looking out the window. There faces are blended with the background of their surrounds.
I smell the smoggy smoke from the ford car. I smell the dirt in the air from the horse drawn carriages. I smell the cold air from a gust of wind.
I hear the ford cars zoom by and the horses hooves click the ground each step they take. I hear the crowds of people talking as they walk by. I hear the birds in the trees around me squawking.
I taste the cold air because its fall and its cold outside. I taste the dirt that's stirred up from the horse drawn carriages. I taste the foul smell that is from the homeless people that pass by.
I feel the people looking at me as I look at the window. I feel the cold air on my face. I feel the people push by me as they walk by me.
3) I would like to create a calouge to show the world my great photographer.
1) What first caught my eye while looking at my photographers photos was the big lady standing by her fruit.
2) I see the boy standing the in his door way leaning against the door. I see the fruit in the baskets one on the chair and three on the ground. I see the big lady and she seems happy to have her hard work done.
I smell the sweet fruit that is piled in the baskets. I smell the smoke from the kid smoking a cigarette. I smell the sweat from the hard days picking of fruit.
I hear the people asking the lady how much the fruit cost. I hear the boys stomach growl from not having enough food to eat. I hear people walking by as I take the photo.
I taste the sweet fruit that the lady has just picked. I taste smoke from the cigarette that the kid is smoking. I taste the wind as it blows past me.
I feel the cold wind on my hands and face. I feel the accomplishment of the hard work being done. I feel the fruit that the lady just picked.
3) I would like to create a calouge to show the world my great photographer and tell about his life.

pinhole finale
1)The negative is the mirror reflection of the positive, the negative has more white and the positive has more black, and you can see mostly everything in the negative more than you can in the positive.
2)Negative- Photography . noting an image in which the brightness values of the subject are reproduced so that the lightest areas are shown as the darkest.
The exposure to light causes the photo to print out on the paper. In a negative the tones are reversed so that highlights appear dark and shadows appear light and the opposite for positive. 3)Bending on the corners of my photo are from the light refraction caused by the angle of the pinhole camera hole.
Rule of Thirds
The fire fighters have plenty of room within the picture to walk around. The people are not in the center of the photo so it shows the effect of the rule of thirds.
Avoiding Mergers
The focus of the photo is the group of people and the background is fuzzy with smoke. Since the focus is on one subject and doesn't drifed around the photo, it goes with avoiding mergers.
Framing
The black buildings give the fire and smoke on the main building more depth. It draws your eyes to the center of the photo.
Lines
This photo has the common s curve and to add to that it has lined that are diagonal.(the poeples shadows) The trail of people grab the attention of the veiwer and draws it up to the top of the photo.
Balance
This photo has a simple geometric shape(triangle) it adds strong visual unity. The three people are in differnet spots but they are connected.
Simplicity
In this photo the guy covered in dust is the main subject or the center of interest. It is framed vertical so that buildings and cars are not showing.

Inside of a camera and vocab.
Macro – the camera senses when you’re taking a close-up shot.
Artifact: These are unwanted image abnormalities like Chromatic Aberrations, Blooming, Moire, Noise, JPG Compression and others.
barrel distortion: This will cause images to look inflated near the center of each corner (like an old CRT TV). It usually occurs on wide-angle lenses and at the wide end of the zoom.
Histogram: Histograms represent brightness distribution in digital images. They are important to evaluate correct exposure. The height (y-axis) represents the amount of pixels and the x-axis represents the brightness value.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
aperture-It dilates and contracts to control the diameter of the hole that the light passes though, to let in more or less light. It is controlled by the f-stop ring.
shutter-is a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time, for the purpose of exposing photographic film or a light-sensitive electronic sensor to light to capture a permanent image of a scene.
exposure-is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic medium (photographic film or image sensor) during the process of taking a photograph
depth of field-is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph.
F-stop-the maximum aperture of the lens.
focal length-of an optical system is a measure of how strongly the system converges (focuses) or diverges (defocuses) light.

2 pinhole photos i like and dislike
I think this is a good photo because it is very clear, you can even see the water drops on the plant. I picked this one because i like how it is shot, most of the plant is shown not just one flower. The main flower and its leafs are in focus and the rest is out of focus.
I think this photo is bad because it has a ugly hand covering up the cool tree. The hand and the background are blurry, every things kinda fuzzy. The photo is out of focus and i don't think any of it is in focus.

2 photos I took
I think this one is good because she is smiling. I picked this one because i really like the way Ashley looks.I tilted the camera and i think thats one reason it looks good to me.
I think this one is bad because she has her eyes closed. I picked this one because it didn't have Ashley with her eyes open. I took the photo too high so she is cut off in the middle.
I liked/disliked these photos
I think this photo is good because of the angle. I picked this one because of the tilt of the camera, it makes things look like they are falling to the left. It has a lot of color and a lot of background.
I think this photo is bad because it is too close. I picked this one because the forehead and chin are cut off and it makes the nose stand out too much. The photo is also really dark and a little hard to make out.
